From 1st June 2025, Openreach will be enacting their Business Standard process for SOGEA and FTTP orders. This is an industry change on all suppliers on the Openreach network and means a few changes to the requirements when ordering new broadband services which require site visits.
Previously, there were three Site Visit Reason (SVR) options available on every new broadband order – Standard, Premium and Advanced – however, from 1st June, Standard installations will no longer be available for business premises, and the minimum installation type will become Premium. The logic for this is decided by the Openreach database which uses site information from the National Ordnance Survey and is reflected in the results returned by the availability checker used when you order a new broadband service. We have also made this information available in our main availability checker on our website and in NetCONNECT.
In addition to this, a small number of business sites will be classified as Advanced, therefore, this will be the only installation option available when placing an order for these sites.
For more information on the Site Visit Reasons and what services are included with each, visit our guide here.
In line with these changes, and to prevent orders from rejecting due to an incorrect SVR being selected, from 1st June, Cerberus will update the order process on our public website and in NetCONNECT so that we enforce the minimum SVR as mandated by Openreach.
As a result, in future, you will not see Standard installation appear as an option for premises which are designated as business premises according to the National Ordnance Survey, and on rare occasions, you may only see the Advanced option, based on the information from Openreach’s database.
